YEY FIESTA!

Working on a fiesta video, pic uploads, taking new pics of the Fiesta tomorrow as well as hitting up the old stomping grounds of SSPP Elementary school-- any of my "teacher readers" here's a shout out to you! I'll be stopping by in the morning with the car so be sure not to take a personal day!

New Fiesta Movement Page!
I am jet lagged yoooooo---
But waking up at this early hour (11:30) has already proven that indeed, the early bird gets the worm.
There is a new Ford Fiesta page!!

www.fiestamovement.com
I've directed you to the agent page, which includes yours truly!
Check out my profile and feel free to explore my other pages!
I'm excited, as you can probably tell. I'll probably blog about my L.A. trip tonight or a little later--I'm still recovering and I have to do some work today--heavy lifting. I'm a beast. SIKE!

Early Bird
I've been up since 7:50-- VOLUNTARILY.
That's right! I just woke up. There were little animals all around my bed and I stretched my arms out wide and yawned. I was, of course, wearing the same gown I had worn yesterday, but non-the-less I woke up happy.

Where did the animals go? Oh--Hey guys.

My Name
I thumbed through the baby name books laying on Sarah and Jay's coffee table... I would like to say I don't look through baby name books regularly...opportunity knocked.
My name is
Alexis Monica... I found out some nifty things about it.
Alexis is a derivative of Alexander, it was traditionally a Russian boy's name, but has morphed into the ever-so-popular American baby name. #6 in the nation now. When I was growing up, it was a reference to the 1980's television show, Dynasty, or just weird.
The baby books said that it means "defender of human kind." I like that.
I looked up Monica, which comes from St. Monica. She was the mother of St. Augustine (you might know him for his super sinning then 180 to being super not sinning). I knew that it meant "advisor" in Latin, I think I learned that in school or on a prayer card or something? But apparently the Greek translation or meaning is "solitary." I find this name suiting.
The thing that pissed me off about one of the baby name books is that it said that Monica is a "no-no" because of Monica Lewinsky. WTF! That shouldn't wreck the whole name!
The baby book is wrong. People should be named Monica more often. They should think of Friends, or the saint or my great-grandmother... none of them were hookers.
No more looking through baby name books. Sorry for invading your privacy Sarah and Jay, it won't happen again. Lol.

Things You Should Be Jealous Of...Me.
Undoubtedly Salisbury is the hippest and most happening place on earth during January.
I mean, where else can you sit inside all day because it is raining and bitterly cold? Where can you stay in every night because no one is around to bother with a social life? Where else can you find such a sweet landscape full of browns and browns? You're probably jealous at this point so I'll stop.
My nights in Salisbury have lately been spent staying with Julia, Sarah and Jay for dinner and playdough (of course we only pretend to eat the playdough). I'm not much of a social butterfly, if the occasion draws me, or I feel like it, I can be, but for the most part I like watching movies and reading over clubs or bars. This all makes my sarcasm less potent, but I'll take the risk.
I have gained a lot of characters as well as a lot of memories hanging out in the Case/Carlander home. These nights of being held captive for dinner...which is AWESOME... have been nothing but entertaining (and Sarah would probably be pissed if she knew that I broke my streak of healthy homecooked meals tonight with a heafty helping of Taco Bell: THEY BROUGHT BACK THE CHEESEY GORDITA CRUNCH!).
Last night, I stayed after babysitting to read in the "yellow room." Sarah and Jay have allowed me to stake a claim in the "yellow room" after I finish watching Julia to have some quiet, alone time to read, write, listen to my ipod, chill or whatever. It's nice because although I love my roommates, this space is just for me and I don't feel obligated to anyone.
Generally this time works for me to get tons done, but last night was different because Julia is on West Coast time.
They spent the holiday in Santa Barbara with family, which has, so far, made for an interesting schdeule for all involved. Julia was running around and she realized that "Yeh-eesh" (as I am so lovingly referred) was sitting in the corner of the couch trying to write some potentially GENIUS work in a journal. Well, Julia would have none of that. "Yeh-eesh! Come in playroom and play green playdough!" There is little to stand between young Caesar and what she desires, especially since she is probably the cutest little gal on earth, so of course I budged.
I warned Sarah that I wasn't trying to stay after to have dinner. I didn't want things to come off that way, because I truly just wanted to get some writing done in peace.
Sarah does what Sarah wants. When it was dinnertime, all were summoned to the table and we ate a delectable meal of chicken, potatoes and cauliflower! I was delighted, but also slightly embarrassed. I'm 12 apparently.
After dinner, there was no reading. Julia was in hypermode and was loving having everyone around to pay attention to her. She decided that since I was trying to be in the "yellow room" in peace and quiet, that she would bring the whole family in and that's where we would all play.
The one catch-- her favorite "yellow room" activity is "hide with Julia in a plastic closet." Bonus material-- Sarah and I didn't have to play the game, as we normally would, since Jay was around! Yey!
All 6'5" of Jay Carlander was decidingly pushed into the small plastic closet. Julia told him how to stand and we just sat back and watched.
I took pictures with my cell phone and told Sarah that "this is blog material." I am simply, now, living up to my words.

Blame it on the rain
I think the rain just enhances my, and I'll use a borrowed term here... "quarter life crisis."
I don't like the idea that Julia and I are stuck inside today because it just keeps on raining.
Luckily she's napping right now so I have the opportunity to vent.
I am recently inspired to write. I don't know if it has to do with my current state of being poor, creative and it's near Christmas... but who gives a shit? I'm going to write.
I'm not going to discuss this any further. I don't want obligations to anyone but the paper. Plus if I had my idea stolen, I might flip a flop.
I think the "quarter life crisis" nails it right on the head.
I don't know which way to go in life. It's overwhelming. I feel slightly useless to the world. I'm crazy in debt, but want to buy a sweet car (or move somewhere ridiculously expensive and live life in the fast lane), I also just want all of my dreams to come true now.
Patience, Alexis, patience.
It's what I'm constantly telling myself.
It is extremely frustrating to want to prove yourself to the world and yet the world is saying "not now little girl... not now."
I am lucky.
I have the support of my family to let me fly the coup, but also they have my back when my wings break off and I crash and burn to the ground.
I also have a job where they take care of me like a surrogate family.
I also have a sweet living condition, and although I would give anything to be a troll on my own, having Jeff and FF there is way healthier.
I am in debt, and there's no way out of it... thanks college.
I have a BA in Communications, but no one wants me.
I'm thinking Hemmingway...

I'm not going to shoot myself... don't worry... I was thinking more along the lines of writing about my experiences. Then making others read it.
I mean if you don't suffer a bit, or don't go through low periods... life would be so bland and happiness wouldn't mean shit right?
I over use the word shit.
Julia is awake now... I'm going to go make this all into a positive!
:)

New Blog!!!
YEY!
I have started a new blog.
I will continue to write in this one, because they are totally different, and I like getting stuff off my chest here.
The other blog is called
Cause Head Network
The blog is about ways to improve yourself and the world. It is an attempt to break away from the narcissistic attitudes we tend to have and focus more on change in general and helping each other world wide.
Please check it out and let me know what you think.
On another note, regarding yesterday's blog.
I RAN.
Not only did I run, but I ran in the RAIN in the DARK!
It wasn't dangerous though. It was just a 1.75 mile around campus and my house. It was well lit and Jeff ran with me, so I had a secret service type, Bill Clinton thing going. Pretty sweet? Yes.

Julia and I have been stuck inside today. She is currently asleep... yey! and I have been working on changing the world from Sarah's desk.
We video taped her singing "That's Amore" today and it will hopefully be edited before she is 20 and put on the internet so her grandparents from all corners can see her grand performance.
I was glad to put the video camera in my hands again. I need to practice more. I have 2 skits in mind, now I just have to force my friends to help me make them. I'll keep you updated.
That's all for now. I'm going to work on the other blog, be sure to check it out.
OH!
One more thing!!!
I'm going to be adding a fan page for exposure on Facebook.com
If you enjoy the blog, let me know, I'll add you to the invite!
