YEY FIESTA!

Working on a fiesta video, pic uploads, taking new pics of the Fiesta tomorrow as well as hitting up the old stomping grounds of SSPP Elementary school-- any of my "teacher readers" here's a shout out to you! I'll be stopping by in the morning with the car so be sure not to take a personal day!

Funny/Cool Picture Day

Today was a beautiful day filled with Sunshine and cool pictures.

Julia stole my RayBans--cool dude.

Okay-- so it turns out that my camera has a delay of like 2 seconds and because of that, I was
taking a picture of Julia running in her self-picked outfit, but ended up taking a picture of a child falling. Sorry J-dawg. I ran over to her right away--she was and is fine. I'm not that bad. Lol.
The funny "self-picked" outfit. Julia got dressed today simply because she could wear her apron "all day"

Same delay--better effect.

Adi and Byron's candle leaked out the side because the other candle melted it. I think it looks like it's spewing. I like this picture.

Today has been a great day. Julia and I were outside most of the day, I went for a run, I did laundry (which I hate, but love to get done), and now I'm watching 30 Rock.

The Fiesta Movement begins Sunday! I'll be taking pictures and blogging! Stay tuned...it's almost here!!

Artilce about Fiesta Movement

This article:
"Ford Names 100 Fiesta Movement 'Agents' to Hit The Road, Find Adventure, Share Experiences"
alludes to the missions that we will go on.

Missions with a purpose

After the vehicles are delivered, the Fiesta Movement agents will receive notification about their upcoming missions, which will be based on monthly themes. With six themes in all, the first theme agents will create content on is travel. Each of the 100 agents will choose an individual mission, which will send them on an adventure to engage with people in their Ford Fiesta.

Partnering with Ford on its campaign is Undercurrent, a digital think tank headquartered in New York City, and AMG, a Colorado-based partner of Undercurrrent. Both companies are schooled in creating long-term relationships between customers and brands and focused on creating experiences that are not only relevant and useful, but entertaining.

"We're engaging outside sources that live in this space to make sure we are pushing the limit as far as we can," said Fontaine. "By working with them, we will maximize the exposure of our content online, while at the same time receiving valuable feedback from the agents about our new car."

I can't wait to go on the missions!! :)

Fiesta Graphics

This is the design I picked for my Fiesta!
Hope you guys like it... Can't wait to drive it!!

Feel free to click on the buttons below to indicate whether or not you like this or not!! :)

Tomorrow is USC

Tomorrow morning, at "sparrows fart," as Adi likes to say, I will be flying to Los Angeles for USC School of Cinematic Art's "Admitted Graduate Students Weekend." I am extremely excited to go and I will be going to screenings of short films as well as the Friday night screening of Forest Gump. Say what you want about FG, I have always enjoyed the film, just ask anyone who knows me. Robert Zemekis, Tom Hanks and Gary Sinise will all be at the screening to field a Q&A session at it's conclusion. Zemekis is a graduate of USC and the new building complex, just completed and opening this month, is named after him. George Lucas put $175 million into the place and now it will be at my fingertips this coming fall.

I cannot believe the luck I am having. It has struck me dumb. Well, no it hasn't, I still talk. Mostly about the luck.

Though I was rejected from NYU, which did bum me out for a good 1/2 week, I was accepted to the #1 film school in the United States (NYU and USC are tied at #1, UCLA is #3...haha).
I was put on the wait list, but it was not a "No" and it was also a small blessing or fantastic timing (depending on your beliefs). I'd say the timing was a miracle, to cover my bases and my beliefs. I would never be able to get there in the Fall. I would have had to defer a year to find the cash. Going in the spring of 2010 gives me the option of having the time and getting the money to move to L.A. and go to this preeminent arena of film and academia.

Other luck has happened in little bits, not really mentionables, just going well.

There was another monumental lucky strike-- winning the Ford Fiesta Movement! I am glad to have had one of my videos actually pull through and have a reward on the other side. It is arduous work to make a film, edit, remaster, and put it out there to be slammed by other people. Your esteem, ego and taste are all put to the test and most often, deminished, even if it's slightly. It's part of the job. You try to put up a tough skin, but it's not always easy. If it were, it wouldn't be worth it.
This win, and the reward have motivated me further. I am on my train track to success.
Now I must refer to my hero, Ingrid Bergman. There is a documentary that Ingrid's daughters put together to tell their mother's story as well as to show her success and motivators.
Her daughter, Pia Lindstrom, described her mother as a (and I paraphrase) train on a track. When her mind was made up, there wasn't any changing it.
I think, out of all of Ingrid's qualities, for which I admire her, this is my favorite. I want to be like that. "I want to go to there." As Tina Fey's character, Liz Lemon, said on 30 Rock, not too long ago. I want to be successfull, work hard and achieve success. Mostly, I want to work.

I hope that these adventures with the Fiesta Movement and USC allow me to make film, write and be out and about or in a studio (or bedroom with a laptop editing system in front of me...same dif...lol) doing what I love. Making and viewing film.
I will die if I am put in an office. I don't think my mind could take it.
(Put some melodrama music to my last comment, it really enhances the theatrics!)

I hope to blog from my weekend. I will take pictures and I'm like 99.99999% sure I'll have stories to tell.

For now, I must pack and hope that the floor doesn't fall from under my feet. Everything has ups and downs. I'm nervous for the downs that may occur, but perhaps right now is my window to get things started and really make something of my life's story.

CHOO! CHOO!

Webbie

I just found out that I will be filming in the Ford Fiesta with a new Sony Webbie.

I'm not sure which version we get, but I also just found out, via twitter, from @fordfiesta, that Sony donated the cameras. There's a good chance that I won a sweet little toy for making new media video. This camera is specifically designed to make movies for the internet. If you visit their website you'll see that Youtube.com also has a bit to say and is on board with the "Webbie."

I am really excited about the contest and again want to thank everyone for helping me win. I found out that I will be receiving a Silver Ford Fiesta! I am so glad that I didn't have to drive Lime or Magenta... that's just not my style.

Anyway, congratulations to all the other winners and to all who didn't win, don't let this break your spirits! Keep making movies and putting them out there, you'll find something good!!

I'll keep everyone updated with details as I get them! :)

I WON A FORD FIESTA!!!

I am currently extremely happy because I won a 2011 Ford Fiesta for 6 months!

#1-- I want to thank everyone for reading my blog and (most likely) watching my video!
"Grazie tante!" ("thank you very much" in Italian)
#2-- I now want to tell you what the next steps are so you can continue to be a part of this!

I received a call today from Andrew Rinke, a representative from a promotional group that Ford has hired for the "Fiesta Movement," and he told me that I won!
I said, "Yey! That's great! Thanks. I've been biting my nails for a week now, waiting."
He said, "Well, you can stop biting them and maybe you could try cutting them instead."
I said, "I meant metaphorically."
He said, "Yeah, sorry. That was an attempt at a lame joke."
Though the joke wasn't, the conversation was; funny.

He asked me my preference in color. My choices were black, silver, blue, magenta and lime. I'm not guaranteed to get the color I want, but hopefully I'll get black or silver... I don't like the other colors for a car. He also asked me for my shirt and shoe size. I'm not sure what the shoe size is for... I'm guessing for a clutch? I don't know, but if it's for shoes, I'm going to laugh REALLY hard.

I will be taking a train to NYC for a training weekend in April. I think, after that, I will receive the car and begin my missions and driving a sweet, international version of the car that will be available in the U.S. in 2011.

I have to fill out some paper work tomorrow and do some updates of my profile for Ford, then I'll be all set!
In the meantime, here is the Fiesta Movement Page and a video to watch about the Fiesta.

Thanks again and stay tuned for details.

PS
My Uncle John sent me a hilarious email in response to my win... I'd like to share it here:

"Excellent…

Glad it wasn’t a GM contest (or Chrysler) !!

Look forward to hearing the results

jm"

That's funny stuff.

Ford Fiesta Movement--One last WAVE DUDES!

Hey everyone--
I'd really appreciate it if everyone could take the time to watch this video! I would really like to get one more giant wave of viewership . I have no idea how these other people are getting such high numbers, maybe they paid for advertising? Idk. But whatever... if you could just click a couple more times, when you're bored or whatever...it would surely help!
Thanks!
I'll let everyone know how it turns out after the 27th when it's announced! The applications have all been turned in and now it's just decision time! WOOT!

Thanks again! <3 Alexis :)
