My birthday is Friday... it's also my grandma's bday... we're 50 years apart.

I'm working on a 4 minute piece that has to be set in an exterior setting w/o dialogue or camera angles.
The camera angle thing is easy, because you shouldn't do that until later in production (as far as I'm concerned) and the no dialogue has become a slight issue. I am just going to have plenty of description and action.

Terrible 2's

I tip my hat to all people who have 2 year olds.
I also tip it a second time to anyone with a teenager.
I think all who are on the receiving end of the tipping should know that they could probably get together and have support groups if they so needed.

Hot and Cold, that's the life right now.

Today held the first snow flurries I have seen this year.
I could tell that it was going to happen. There's a specific type of weather that brings snow. There has to be a warm updraft and a cold down at the same time.
The water has to jump around in the sky to make the crystals, then the crystals have to survive the fall through the potential warm air.
Today, that happened.

Pretty freaking cool.

I was able to do a lot of writing last night, but boy is my brain tired. I think tonight will produce even better work because I'll be ALL nice and punchy.
Woot!

I turn 24 in a week... let's see what that age will bring... CRAZZZZZIIIIEEESSS lol :)

It's A Wonderful Life

I don't like the Christmas season to come before Christmas or Hannakah or Kwanza or whatever. I <3 Thanksgiving. I love it because it's usually the same as my birthday week (yes I'm that special) and I don't like them to conflict. There are films that have been catagorized as "Christmas Movies" and some of them are, but some of them ARE NOT. It's a Wonderful Life happens over the span of a lifetime. Granted, there is snow, and at one point it is Christmas time, BUT, it's not a Christmas movie!

I'm not going to go through any of the others, I'm just going to stick with this one because my feet are firmly planted in the ground (Though Miracle on 34th street should also be watched on Thanksgiving because of the Macy's Day Parade).

I love NYC. I do. It's just so fun and crazy. Even when it's bad, it's still good.

I went there with Adi this past weekend. We had a blast.
We saw the latest Kristen Scott Thomas movie I've Loved You So Long and it was amazing!


The movie is about a woman who is let out of prison after 15 years and how she adjusts to her new life with her (much younger) sister's family. It's French and won at the Berlin Film Festival. I recommend it. It was superb.

We walked through Central Park, it was cold but a nice day and beautiful.
(WEE!)

We walked up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art aka "The Met."

Adi was the perfect P.I.C. (Partner In Crime ... see Role Models... also did that this weekend, lol). We both zoomed through most of the ancient stuff and went right for Modern Art!

We spent a good 2 hours meandering through the museum. It was SUPERCALAFRAGULISTICESPIALIDOCIOUS... the cat has my tongue, I can't find the words.

After that, we were close to withering away from hunger, however, we pressed on.

We took the train down to Astor Place so we could walk around NYU. Well, that turned into shopping and eating. Lol. It was a Sunday, so there wasn't much to look at in NYU's buildings anyway (or at least that's what I'm telling myself).

We stopped by a vintage shop where I picked up a Life magazine from November 26th 1956 with who else but Ingrid Bergman on the cover. The issue from when she came back to the states with Anastasia!

You can take them out of South Africa, but you can't take the rule breaking bad ass out of them.
After we shopped, we went to a Mediterranean restaurant called Virage. The food was BANGIN'.


The atmosphere was great! We listened to 80's music like Talking Heads, The Police, The Cure and others while eating and laughing. I had So much fun!

One detail that I have left out of this blog is that I slept for 4 hours the night before. So by this time I was pretty tired. We had a 90 min train ride back to Jersey then a 4 hour car ride.

The drive was still fun.

I then passed out. :)

She lives in the state of Colorado (SQUARE) now. It was definitely great to hear from her! We talked nonsense for a bit and caught up. We also played phone tag before the actual conversation and left obnoxiously serious, adult voiced, messages. Jealous of our friendship? YOU SHOULD BE.

Another good thing from today was Julia's behavior. A+++

He and I were in the theatre together at SU and he is the only person (in real life) who makes me think smoking can make you look cool. He is that good.
Derek is aware of my fanaticism for Helen Keller and supports me in my decisions.

SHANIA WAS ON THE CMA's last night.... yes, I had to wait through 2 hours of ear-bleeding shit music.

There's a rumor going around that Shania Twain is going to make an appearance at the CMA's. I hope to God she does.

I am a die hard Shania Twain fan. Many people who have lived around me for the past 15 years know this. My sister... my poor poor sister has lived through the thickest of the storm. She witnessed my fanaticism at its grandest. To her, I dedicate tonight.


To Carol I dedicate this... suck it. Sike, Shannay nay fwain.

Anyway, I am sitting here through this show and I can't stand it. The other stuff that these people sing about is SO cliche and freaking twangy, not to mention flat out annoying.

This guy who was just on sang about Chevrolets and the flag and shit... it was so typical.

I just hope Shania makes it worth it. It's also rumored that she is coming up with new music! So my closetted (since 2004) Shania fanaticism may make a comeback.

Myers Briggs

I took the Myers Briggs test last night when I couldn't get to sleep.


I had forgotten about the test until a couple days ago when Sarah brought it to my attention. We were talking about how people end up dating personalities they are drawn to and it fell into the convo. I remember taking the test in high school... in Religion class (which Jeff said he did too, so I guess it's a Catholic standard... maybe a way to keep tabs on the Introverted?). In Religion class I cheated and answered so that it wasn't me. I didn't want them to know my actual personality, plus I've known my whole life what I want to do... so they weren't going to tell me to be a teacher or a librarian...

When I took it last night, I went the high road and didn't cheat... also good to determine that I don't belong in an insane asylum.

They're called the Healers, Feelers and Creative. Haha. They pretty much nailed it on the head.

My type of personality needs jobs where they feel worth while but not in the spotlight. Also are dreamers and search for true value in life.

This whole test freaks me the f- out.

I didn't realize what I was getting myself into. I don't trust standardized testing, but I guess they thought this one through (Also the test would tell me that I don't trust standardized testing, so that's freaking me out right now too.)

Apparently it comes along with some of these things:

Though these are a lot of negatives, the idealist in me sees the positives and I'm not overly concerned. Plus, the first three are the best positives I could possibly want!

Okay, so let's see who INFP's are attracted to... is that what you're wondering. Well I don't care what you're wondering, I'm going to tell you anyway (is this where you stop reading?)...

This is what I found:

For the INFP, love is a very deep commitment, and one that is not easily attained. They have ideals, and therefore reality may be carefully scrutinized.

With their ideal firmly envisioned, the first date with that special person is carefully planned and prepared for, and often every aesthetic thing is taken care of. The flowers are in place, the right wine is ordered, and the proper meal is prepared.

For anyone who watches True Blood, I don't mean warewolf style, I'm just being silly.

ESTJ's are Extroverted, Sensing, Thinking and Judging. THE DIRECT OPPOSITE of INFP's.

Apparently our creativity and introvertedness is not to be trusted. Lol.

So far my birthday forecast (from the birthday book), horoscope, and Myers Brigg have been right on. I'm trying not to buy into everything, but if it's right... what the f!?

Today

Today was a bit on the stressful side...

Julia decided to be super emo... also super elmo.
She is OBSESSED with her new privilage of watching Elmo Tap Dancing. It's like crack. The child is SMILING like her face will never recover, but take that shit away... whoa... d-bag.

She had a melt down today which ended in her sleeping on a pillow on the floor. It was incredibly cute, but took a lot of energy to get to.

anyway... other things also happened today...

I made cauliflower, broccoli and tofu... roasted them... well I guess techincally they ended up kinda frying ,but it was BANGIN!

Kudos to Sarah Case for teaching me how to cook cauliflower... I have found a new love in small cloud like veggies.

My dinner was a great way to end a healthy day. I also got a 2 mile run in... tomorrow I plan on running in the morning... I'm trying to get more out of my day. Also, though I love running in the evening (I'm better then), it has been DARK when I'm running. Not as enjoyable as a sunny day.
So I'm going to hopefully not choke on my snot in the morning and accomplish something before 10:30.

I cut my hand this evening. I was trying to find my camera charger. It's here somewhere... I just can't find it. I guess it's time to clean my room.

Maybe I can do that tomorrow too. I should go to be so I can be productive tomorrow.

OH! One more thing... saw a Steve Martin movie today that is to die for. ALL THANKS TO ADI!

It's called Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. It's a Carl Reiner film made in 1982. Steve Martin stars opposite clips from old movies... including Ingrid Bergman in NOTORIOUS!!!! and Cary Grant in Suspicion! I was SO happy!

FILM FESTIVAL!!

Today Adi, Jeff and I went to the Rehobeth Beach Film Festival.

I woke up at 7:30 am... w/o alarm... pretty impressed... thought so.

The day was great! We listened to a lecture about Film Studies with 3 professors from Salisbury University. It was reassuring for me to hear about some of their experiences and knowledge as well at rhetoric and responses. I was given a slight bit of confidence towards my applications and writings... always good.

On another note, regarding yesterday's blog.

I RAN.
Not only did I run, but I ran in the RAIN in the DARK!

It wasn't dangerous though. It was just a 1.75 mile around campus and my house. It was well lit and Jeff ran with me, so I had a secret service type, Bill Clinton thing going. Pretty sweet? Yes.



Julia and I have been stuck inside today. She is currently asleep... yey! and I have been working on changing the world from Sarah's desk.

We video taped her singing "That's Amore" today and it will hopefully be edited before she is 20 and put on the internet so her grandparents from all corners can see her grand performance.

I was glad to put the video camera in my hands again. I need to practice more. I have 2 skits in mind, now I just have to force my friends to help me make them. I'll keep you updated.

Elena and Her Men

Today is a rainy one... once again.

I am feeling better, as is Julia. She's upstairs having quiet time and hopefully falling asleep sometime soon.

Elena and Her Men

I am watching a French movie from 1956. It is a Jean Renoir film starring Ingrid Bergman and Mel Ferrer. Mel was married to Audrey Hepburn during this time. Audrey Hepburn didn't want to leave him when he was shooting in France, so all of the Paris scenes from her movie Funny Face were shot during that time.

Ingrid speaks fluent French... one of her 5 languages, but they let her have the disguise of a Polish Princess so that her accent is accounted for... pretty interesting in my book. 

I had to order this movie from Japan, because the US and Europe don't seem to have the supplies to enable my rare movie addiction. Especially when I venture into the realm of the foreign movie. 

The movie is really funny so far and not too hard to understand. I have the subtitles of course, but I feel that I might be better off to just watch the movies a few times in french before I find out what they are truly saying. Maybe I should just take up French?

I want to learn Italian first. 

There are several things that I am planning to do today to better my little world.

Work on my NYU app.

Run after work.

Grocery shop and cook for the rest of the week

Practice Italian

Get to be a little bit earlier so I can wake up a bit earlier.

Hopefully I can accomplish most of these things!
