So due to tonight's debate and attacks on my feminist beliefs at SAGE... ironic I know... I am not going to blog about the sexism in a Hitchcock film...
Rather I will leave you with this.
Vote OBAMA 08.

The Economy and Nap Time... both failing.
I really hope that the economy bounces back to something worth while. I feel as if Julia, two year old economic prodigy, can tell that the stocks have fallen and the economy is shit. She is happy when she's not thinking about it, but during nap time, when thoughts are racing through her little head... she just can't settle down. She dances in her crib and yells "yet eesh" (her name for me) because she can sense the unrest in this "grand" nation.

So let's work on getting things settled. For Julia's sake, but also all involved. Meaning: Julia's parents and myself. Not all of you. No. Sorry. You lose. You lost us when everyone thought it was a great idea for Bush to have a second term... wish you voted Kerry now? I mean, sure, he isn't the brightest crayon in the box either... but he's married to the Heinz Ketchup lady and we know she'd be watching the economy, it's the poor people's tomato sauce... anyone seen National Lampoon's Vacation? duh.

"I think I broke my nose.
-I think I stabbed my brain.
-I think I got my period"
In other news...
I have found a new analogy for Sarah Palin. A microwave oven.
"Unflatterin' picture of Palin" and a microwave oven... who'd win the fight? I'd say it's a tie.
Here is the reasoning:
1. Not human- I'm still waiting for some sort of test results to prove that she is a) Human and b) Female.
2. She is dumb as a brick- Unless she has a note card in front of her or a coach near by she's useless. She has to have it programmed into her, yep, you guessed it, just like a microwave... beep beep boop!
3. She's transparent- just like a microwave door.
4. The light is only on when someone's looking.
5. She's radio active- She will produce stupidity that will radiate through the hearts of the nature and spawn the cancer cells that will annihilate this nation.
6. "She's hot"- my big sister said this... haha... and Jodi's a Republican... hopefully Jodi doesn't plan to out herself anytime soon... for that microwave only "tolerates" lesbians.
7. She's a hot box- 4 kids.
8. Nothing goes better with a "Joe Six Pack" or a "Jane Wine Box" (John Stewart) than a nice microwave dinner... the meals of the common Alaskan mooseburger kinda lady she's goin' for
9. Christian Moralistic Conformity- find it in Palin (well so she says), find it in the kitchen... Personal's political... right Dr. Case?
10. Something I'd rather not have in the house... I've become use to not cooking with a microwave and honestly the food tastes better from the stove or oven. Toasty.
Now I know I attack her... but you know what? She probably wouldn't like me. She attacks me with her dumb ass speeches and rhetoric against my beliefs. Her hypocricy and cutesy ways of demeaning women.
Fuck that. I'm not protecting that. Joe Biden all the fucking way home man. He's from Wilmington... the place of my birth. I'd love to have a hometown hero. Why not? I mean Delaware is normally not something I brag about. I'll defend the northern part of it, but the rest is a shit stain on the United States... HOWEVER... It's not Alaska, which at this point I consider Polar Bear BOWELS. Yep, that's right.
That's where polar bear bowels are found... not the igloo. hehe.

I have another post to write about... but seeing that it's completely unrelated... I'll leave it for later.
Here's a teaser:
A suspenseful Hitchcock film from 1945 and how sexism relates to, but does not crush the plot!

Shout out
Shout out to Mara!

SCHWAGGGGG!!!!

Mara- I'm about to tell the world about your new found worldliness.
World-
Mara was a sheltered lamb to the world. She came to the Travel Channel Academy with only the knowledge of the Total Gym and Gazelles. That's right... Infomercials.
For some reason, which right now I cannot recall, she heard the word "schwag" twice in one day. I mentioned it to her when she was trying to score some free stuff for her daughter (which props to Mara because we all got free stuff...so thanks!) and somewhere else that day.
Thank God she met me that weekend. Otherwise, SHELTERED OHIO CHICKA!
I also informed her of the nickname for weed that is shitty, also called Schwag.

Mara-
Your videos were kick ass... do some fundraising and get yourself that camera and Mac... Hope your daughter is doing well and not texting too much!
Now I must go clean my room.
In Response
In response to Adi's comment on my blog "Manic Pixie Dream Girls," I was about to post a follow up comment, but felt it was good enough to put on the blog. I have that much confidence in my abilities.
.jpg)

here it is:
I love manic pixie dream girls... i don't like that they are always the enabler to the dull dude, but I relate to them in a way. I like it when instead of giving into their pixie ways, they become strong and independent... which is only as of late that it is an option and still most women want to see the girl fall into the guy's arms... it's just this weird romanticism that even some of us feminists are guilty of occasionally dreaming about ....eek.Of course part of my dreams as a writer and hopefully contributor to the film industry, will be to change some of these things. We can be pixies, we just need to kick ass too. Take Anne Hathaway in Get Smart... she changed 99's character from being a co-dependent, smarter than the guy yet submissive , tall yet bending down as not to be taller than the lead man, beautiful but not admittingly so, into the complete opposite and kicking so much ass... yet still getting the guy in the end. I think we are evolving, it just takes time.

The left is the recent flick "Get Smart" based on the Mel Brook's television show from the 1960's. Anne Hathaway is the recent 99 and Barbara Feldon is 99 from the past.
"Oh Max" was her coined phrase... good thing they decided to let her kick some ass...making up for 40 years of that oppressive line... Mind you I'm a long time fan of the show, I just think somethings always need to change.

Manic Pixie Dream Girls

That's right, you heard me, Manic Pixie Dream Girls... and I'm not taking it back.
NPR has this great video and article about the women in movies who take depressed men who are at their wits end, usually a writer or nit wit, who find a muse in a beautiful yet not so deep female character.
Here is the article/video location
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=95507953
The woman in the video picked one of my favorite, if not my favorite Katharine Hepburn movie, Bringing Up Baby. This movie is freaking amazing. Not in any other movie will you find Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn saying the word "leopard" a billion times. They're accents are AMAZING and the plot is crazy! It was during the time that both actors were into slapstick comedy and lacking their more dramatic roles (those came with age). This movie is a MUST SEE.
One of the other movies mentioned was Breakfast at Tiffany's. Truman Capote basically lived out his dreams with this story. Holly Golightly is the manic pixie dream girl here, and she is a PARTY girl. I love this character too. She's so flightly, yet has an inner sadness (though not too deep to be a downer). She doesn't even feel she has the right to name her cat... how great is that? "Cat, his name is cat." Plus Audrey Hepburn... need I say more?
Check out the article.

Brainstorming
I'm having trouble coming up with a good character for my character analysis... so I blog.
Today has been 99.9% humid. It's like walking through a mist tent, but not in a nice I just got done running in the hot sun and this feels nice and cool way... more so CLAMMY and GROSS.
Tonight SNL is "going prime time" and weekend update will be mocking the leaders of our country once again. I LOVE IT.
I hope they do Palin, Biden, Obama, McCain, Pelosi, Frank... yeah, it would all be great.
My girl Molly Shannon is making an NBC comeback tonight too. Hopefully that show will do well, though I have my doubts. I'm not going to publicize my opinion quite yet. I'll just give Kath&Kim a whirl, then remark.
I love that NBC is going to kill in the ratings tonight. I have always been a huge NBC fan, and I remain so through rough and good times. ABC can suck it. CBS well, they can just be in the background in case I ever need a Wednesday night pick-me-up.
I'm currently listening to NPR's FreshAir with Terry Gross. She's interviewing a woman from San Diego State U. about feminism and Sarah Palin... She's discussing how a woman being elected doesn't necessarily benefit women. She's not pro-feminism (though she claims to be) and she's a pawn in the conservative effort to appeal to a "minority."
Uh oh! Julia's up... gotta go!
Shamma shamma elle elle shammama
I'm about to go to sleep after a long day of many events so I'll try and sum it up in a short yet powerful blog entry.

This morning was a bit slow, I think I was tired from working all night on my application projects. This process is incredibly tedious and time consuming.
I spent the morning with a content and wonderful Julia until her DIAPER EXPLODED with POOP. She put her hand in it, it was on the seat, it was on my shirt, on the table... then her leg got stuck between the table and chair... HORRENDOUS! Grossest poop ever. I never thought I'd be talking about someone else's shit so much... but seriously... it was ridiculous. Anyone who has children or watches children would understand. There are some days where it's a good thing they're so fucking cute, because otherwise...BYE BYE. lol.
So after that fiasco, we went to see the SAGE-er's at Oktoberfest... that was fun. Julia got a feathered hat and we danced around. I saw some friends I hadn't seen in a while, which is always cool. It was nice.
After that, we went home and CRASHED. NAPPY NAP time was awesome.
When She woke up, she had pee all over her pants! Costume change numero dos! Once again, I dealt with the disgusting matter and just kept saying... "I am working on higher education, I am working on higher education," to which Julia responded with "hahahaha." Always encouraging.
We went to the park and it was great. I took lots of pictures for part of my photo project for USC and Julia had a blast. That was a total success. She's always at her best when we go "park wee."
This is a picture I took today... I won't be using this one, but I took so many good pictures it seems like a waste not to use them!
After babysitting all day, I came home and hung out with the roommies. I went to the SAGE meeting tonight and got done some work. I'm still in the midst of working, but I'm going to break for a good night's sleep. My back is killing and I'm just gonna pass out while watching Neil Simon's classic "Barefoot In The Park" starring Robert Redford (I LOVE HIM, like it's gross how much I LOVE HIM) and Jane Fonda (SHE'S A BADASS FEMINIST, despite certain issues to which i will not refer).
I love movies so much. I really hope my dreams play out. If not, I'll just go back to school again and get my Ph. D. in cinema studies... then I'll just shut away and watch Hitchcock and Bergman movies ALL DAY LONG. lol.
Okay I'm beat. Ciao.
