When it Snows it Rains

BRRRRRR-
The past two days have been COLD.
The days before that, I wore just jeans and a light sweater. This is ridiculous!
She digresses...

My Dad had his gull bladder out on Wed. Yey Dad! He's doing well... thanks for asking.

Due to his vegetated state (or just doctor's orders not to go out in the sub-degree weather... either way... I prefer drama), he could not attend my sister's lacrosse game at Washington College, Saturday, with my Mom and me.

Now I want you to take a minute to imagine life in Antarctica...

got it?

That's what it was like sitting in the stands. I love my sister that much.

(My sister, Erin. Go #12!)

My Mom came prepared (unlike her spawn). She brought sit-upons, blankets, gloves and the almighty hand warmers! Now comes my point-- She brought 2 hand warmers and 2 foot warmers (feet warmers?). The hand warmers look like bean bags, the foot warmers look like maxi-pads cut in half.

My Mom posed a question: "Why are you taking a picture of it?"
To which I responded: "To blog about, Mom. I have no running theme."*

Now, to address the title.
It is SNOWING in Salisbury.

This is almost unheard of in this neck of the woods.
I found out, through this particular snow shower, that I have not one thing that is affected by the snow, beyond wiping off the windows of my car.
Now that I don't go to school, I don't have any reason to get excited about snow in Salisbury.
Snow in Salisbury means one or two snowballs, maybe a snowman, but no sledding and an exorbitant amount of time inside.

This all sparked memories of checking the weather and leaving little notes to God... yes to God... to ask for a snow day. I think my Mother might still do this on occasion (though I have yet to catch her). Good 'ole Catholic school for you, telling you to pray, well I did... I prayed for snow!
Bomb scares were another clutch day off, but that's a different story for another day... Carol.

When I lived in Connecticut there were no snow days. It had to be ICE and SNOW and something had to have gone wrong in a building (couldn't get in, frozen pipes...etc). I remember one morning in particular at Quinnipiac when it had snowed and was as icy as an ice skating rink.
My friends M.J. and Kaitlin and I were all walking to a 5 am practice (inside the gym) and it was probably 2 degrees outside. We were all tired and miserable and Kaitlin said "Do you think if I slipped on this black ice and busted my head I wouldn't have to practice today?" M.J. responded, "Only if you take us down with you."
I love friends like that. All for involved, or not at all. Lol.

I'm sure none of the schools will have class tomorrow, there is at least 2 inches on the ground here. That means people will act like the apocalyps is happening, drive like idiots and I will now pray that Julia wants to throw a snowball or two! Haha!
