Who has $200?

I was just looking on www.nylon.com
and there is an article ( Moviefone) there about Ingmar Bergman and Liv Ullman!
There is a box set that has some of Bergman's work.

The Ingmar Bergman Archives (box set) can be found at www.taschen.com and is $200.

I don't have an extra $200 laying around, but you bet if I did, that I would surely have this box set.

I can't get enough of the Swedish cinema! The market isn't big enough in the U.S. for these nordic film masters.

Adi sent me an article today from the NYTimes.com website regarding another Swedish director, Jan Troell. Though I have not seen any of his work, I hope to in the future.
Here is where you can read the article: A Swedish Director's Literary Lens

I want Swedish film as well as international film to have more prevalence and popularity in United States pop culture. It shouldn't always be considered avant garde, indie or small production if it isn't made in Hollywood! Let's give the international voice a mega phone because some of this stuff should be seen just to give America's public a little less narcism and a little more culture.

You must have forgotten, that this is after all America (the United States of) and if it doesn't come from here, then it's not important...Or usually way way cooler and everyone here is too lame to realize it.

If you want the Ingmar Bergman box set you might want to just move to China. I saw it the other day at a video store for about 200 RMB. So under $30... They also had the Hitchcock box set, Felini, Truffaut, Godard, Scorcese, you name it. There is no copyright law in China so they just copy the dvd's and then sell them for dirt cheap.

I would seriously consider buying it; however, the last time I bought a foreign language DVD (I bought "Waltz with Bashir") apparently for the English subtitles they had translated it from Hebrew into Chinese, then from Chinese into English, so it made absolutely no sense. Still I might ask them if they could play the DVD for me before I buy it and then go ahead. Bergman rules! Especially Persona.
