Cha-cha-cha-cha-changes

Julia is soon to have a little sister.
I got a text from her father saying simply "It's definitely on. I'll stay in touch."

I love this chapter of my life. It is constantly throwing me curve balls.
I have the best job I could have (outside of doing what I went to school for) in this "wonderful" economy into which I graduated. I get to play all day with a 2 year old who is cool as shit. I get to play lax and take Julia to run around and learn lax almost everyday. Sarah makes amazing food and they let me eat it. Dinner is always amusing and it's like a sitcom right in front of me. Now Sarah and Jay are at the hospital and I'm getting updates like that? Spectacular.

I'm very excited to be involved but not involved in this situation.
I am involved because I help take care of Julia and will continue to be around to help with both girls. I'm involved because Sarah and Jay have been incredibly hospitable and I like to give back to them as well. I am involved because Sarah has made sure I know everything about pregnancy that I could know with out actually having a child...whether I wanted to know it or not.

It's like having great seats at a concert. You can see the band, you know all the songs, you have a great time and maintain the ideals you have created of the band when you leave.
You don't have to go backstage and find out that it's real and the band is really smelly.

Ideal --^

Reality--^
I will get to see the bambino when she makes her home debut. That's pretty cool.

The whole idea of going into a hospital with 2 people and leaving with 3 still freaks me out. Big time. But thanks to being around this family for the 9 months previous, I realize that it's because you develop a relationship with someone even before you see them; whether you talk about them or not, or unless you stop it, she/he's a comin'.

Change seems to be the theme of life. It's very potent in my life right now. More potent in Julia and Jay's. Most in Sarah's.
Change is keeping everyone on their toes, it's refreshing.

I can't wait to give Julia and "baby sister" their presents!!!! :)
